Jennifer Conroyd is the founder of Fluid Running. She is an avid athlete, Boston Marathoner and Ironman. Jennifer discovered the benefits of deep water running when she sustained an injury while training for the Chicago Marathon. She, along with all her siblings, were running as a team to raise money for The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Jennifer’s nephew was diagnosed with the disease at a very young age.
Due to her injury, she could no longer train by running on the road, so she took to the pool and ran solely in deep water for the six weeks leading up to the marathon. She not only finished the marathon but qualified for the Boston Marathon. Amazed by her successful finish, it propelled her to create Fluid Running with the goal of helping other injured runners. She quickly learned that it could help anyone (injured or not) who wants a really good workout without experiencing the pain often associated with land-based exercise. She is an A.C.E. certified personal trainer and USA Track and Field trained coach and has worked individually with hundreds of clients helping them reach their fitness and competitive goals.
Jennifer is a graduate of Miami University and had 10 year career in marketing and promotions. She is married and the mother of 3 boys.
Founder and CEO
Created in 2011, Fluid Running is the only organized deep water running program taught by certified instructors. Fluid Running offers group classes that are approximately 55 minutes in length that combine high intensity running sets with more moderate sets mixing in other movements to challenge other muscle groups and keep the workouts interesting. Men's Journal voted it one of The 20 Best Workouts in America. Approximately 20 classes a week are offered at locations in the Chicagoland suburbs in the fall/winter/spring and about 40 classes per week in the summer months.
Due to the demand from individuals around the country and the globe for this program, and coupled with a number of advanced technologies only available in the last couple years, Fluid Running recently launched its mobile product called Fluid Running H2Go. H2Go is an app-based, music-backed and fully coached deep-water running workout that allows anyone to do this workout anytime, and at any deep water pool. The H2Go system includes instructional videos which teaches the user how to properly deep water run in a way which mimics land running form, equipment (flotation belt, tether and Bluetooth, waterproof headphones) and audio workouts which are accessed via the Fluid Running app. It is the only app-based deep water running workout available in the world. Fluid Running H2Go was recently featured in Runner's World.
While initially created with the runner in mind, Fluid Running H2Go allows anyone the ability to get an amazing cardiovascular full body workout without any impact. Users include elite athletes, fitness-minded people, seniors, those with chronic pain, those recovering from surgery, pregnant women, and bariatric patients. Fluid Running is changing lives by saying "yes" you CAN exercise!
